Minimally Invasive Surgery

Surgery- Flemington, NJ- Advanced Obstetrics and Gynecology, LLCThe doctors of our practice are experts in minimally-invasive surgery. The majority of surgical procedures that we perform are done with small incisions, with much less discomfort than traditional surgery. Patients are back to work and back to their normal lifestyles quickly.

Our physicians have special expertise in performing laparoscopic hysterectomy procedures, and the majority of necessary hysterectomies for our patients are performed by minimal-invasive approaches, rather than large incisions.

Of course, our doctors are also expert at medical care and minor procedures that help to minimize the number of hysterectomies that our patients need altogether. However, when medication and non-invasive procedures are unable to relieve symptoms, surgery remains an accepted and effective treatment for a range of gynecologic conditions.

These include, but are not limited to, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse and excessive bleeding.

Minimally-invasive surgical procedures offer the following benefits over traditional procedures with larger incisions:

  • Less blood loss
  • Shortened hospital stay
  • Less pain
  • Low risk of infection and complications
  • Fast recovery and return to normal activities
  • Small incisions and less scarring

Da Vinci® Robotic Surgery
Dr. Seth Rubin performs robotic surgical procedures, to further enhance the options for minimally-invasive surgery for our patients. The surgical robot allows minimally-invasive surgery to be performed with precision and excellent outcomes.

With the development of new surgical technology, there is a new category of minimally-invasive surgery for which you may be a candidate. Robotic surgery is an effective, minimally-invasive alternative to both open surgery and laparoscopy. Through the use of the da Vinci® Surgical System, surgeons are now able to offer a minimally-invasive option for complex surgical procedures.

It is important to know that surgery with da Vinci does not place a robot at the controls; your surgeon is controlling every aspect of the surgery with the assistance of the da Vinci robotic platform.
