New Jersey Women’s Health Care: Ovarian Issues

One of the main purposes of women’s health care is taking care of any ovarian issues as they arise. While most of these problems are minor or completely treatable, it’s important that you contact us at Advanced Obstetrics and Gynecology, LCC, as soon as you experience pain or other symptoms. We can provide you with a diagnosis and start you on a plan of treatment immediately.

Ovarian Cysts

Most ovarian cysts do not cause any pain at all. They are relatively small and go away without treatment. In some cases, cysts may start to grow and cause a variety of symptoms. At Advanced Obstetrics and Gynecology, we have an accredited ultrasound program to help properly evaluate all types of ovarian lesions. Our qualified physicians can read your results and provide a diagnosis of your situation and create a plan of action for treatment.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

PCOS is a hormonal disorder that may cause infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods. The exact cause of PCOS is unknown, but with proper care and treatment, you reduce any long-term complications that may arise. Diagnosis is done through a routine pelvic exam, blood tests and an ultrasound. If we discover you have PCOS, your doctor may suggest a low-calorie diet, moderate exercise, birth control pills or other medicinal therapy.

Other Common Ovarian Issues

Other common ovarian concerns we can treat and diagnose through your regular health exam include ovarian hormonal imbalance or endometriosis.
